Rules for blitz chess tournaments

Dates

Available at the schedule you will find in this web. The celebration of these tournaments is subject to a minimum number of 50 players.

Hours

Games will start at 11 pm.

Pace of play:

3 minutes + 2 seconds per play.

Groups of play:

A unique competition group will be established, but with two separate classifications:

• General ranking.
• Group B: players with FIDE’s ELO points below 2000, and who have not surpassed 2100 FIDE’s ELO points in the last 3 years. Blitz FIDE’s ELO points will be taken into account; if the player does not have a blitz FIDE’s ELO ranking, he will be assigned his FIDE’s ELO points for slow pace games.

All players must have a valid FIDE license, as the tournament will be evaluated for blitz FIDE ‘s ELO.

Enrollment:

Registration fees for each of the blitz chess tournaments must be paid no later than one hour before of the tournament’s celebration day.

Both the game room and the registration listings will be published before of the celebration day of each of the blitz chess tournaments, both at the entrance of the game room. Players should advice the Organization if they find any errors in these listings up to 5 minutes before the start of each of these events.
